Doris M. Benz, age 96, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Doris was born in Berlin, WI, on November 22, 1920, the daughter of Roger and Ruth (Douglas) Waters. She graduated from Green Lake High School, and on her birthday in 1941, married Raymond Benz. He passed away in 2010. Doris worked at the Heidel House in Green Lake, WI, as a kitchen aide for 30 years. She was a member of The Federated Church of Green Lake.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Radene Abel of Green Lake, WI; son, Gary (Ardis) Benz of Hixton, WI; six grandchildren: Julie (Jason) Thom, Jeff (Lindsey) Lindberg, Mike (friend, Nancy) Benz, Melissa Villafuerte, Chris Benz, and Bill (Holly) Benz; nine great-grandchildren: Madalyn, Spencer, Matt, Zach, Samantha, Kaden, Raynee, Cody, and Tori; and one great-great-granddaughter, Dazie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Ruth; and three brothers, Glenn, Robert, and Clifford Waters.
Visitation for Doris will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at The Federated Church of Green Lake, 489 Scott St., Green Lake, WI, 54941.
A funeral service for Doris will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at The Federated Church of Green Lake, with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. A memorial has been established in her name.
