Donna J. Marquart

Donna Jean Marquart, age 75, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.  

Donna was born May 15, 1949, in Illinois, daughter of Donald and Annabelle “Jean” (Haight) Farquhar. She graduated from high school and received her dual bachelors degree in education and art history. She met Wesley Marquart in Ripon. They were married April 15, 1973 in Oshkosh. Together they traveled the world and raised a family.

Donna was an amazing woman who was constantly busy with projects and volunteering. She had a knack for stained glass, beaded scarves, gardening, playing violin, sewing, and cooking. She was a loving “Stage Mom” at the Ripon Middle School and High School where she made many costumes for plays. She volunteered with The Little White Schoolhouse and the Historical Society. She was known for her lemon meringue pies. Donna was protective of her family. She was a mother through and through for everyone in the Ripon community. 

Donna and Wesley were involved at SCA events. She would feed anyone and make sure everyone was loved. Their SCA motto was “Welcome to Wind Haven, have you eaten?”. She enjoyed playing her fiddle at the events. 

Donna is survived by her husband, Wesley Marquart; daughter, Rebekah Hickey; sons, Damon Marquart, and Donald Marquart; grandchildren, Lanh Matelski, Jakob Lancour, and Lilith Hickey; as well as many family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald (Annabelle) Farquhar; and brother, John Farquhar.

A celebration of life gathering for Donna will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. A memorial is being established in her name.
