Donna Lee Long, age 86, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Maplecrest Manor.
Donna was born November 23, 1936 in Markesan, WI, the daughter of Richard and Mabel (Dahlke) Bloedel. She graduated from Ripon High School and married Jerry A. Long on May 17, 1958. She worked as a homemaker and a bookkeeper for the family businesses. She also loved knitting, reading, Sundays at Green Lake, organizing class reunions and cheering on the Packers.
Donna believed in always putting her family first. She embodied kindness, positivity and generosity of time and spirit. Even in the face of her own challenges, she cared for and encouraged everyone around her all her life. Nothing brought her more joy than watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and achieve their goals.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Lisa) Long of Kemah, TX and Ron (Gay) Long of Ripon; one daughter, Rebecca Long of Ripon; grandchildren, Nicholas (Kari) Long, Andrew (Brianna) Long, Ryan, Matthew, Evan (fiancé, Madison DePranger) and Christopher Long; great-grandchildren, Olive, Jahnessa and Solomon Long and Sterling and Walker Long; special friend, Zinnia; brother, Robert (Barbara) Bloedel of FL; and sister, Claire Wood of PA. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry A. Long; and her parents, Richard and Mabel Bloedel.
A visitation for Donna will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 9 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial service for Donna will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating.
