Donald “Don” D. Carpenter, age 84, of Green Lake, WI, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family.
Don was born on January 1, 1941, in Janesville, WI, son of the late Homer and Helen (Cain) Carpenter. He grew up in Janesville and graduated from Joseph A. Craig High School in 1959. On November 2, 1963, Don married JoAnn O’Laughlin. Don worked as an insurance agent at Allstate for 35 years, retiring in 1999. Don deeply loved and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his family, community, and friends.
Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn; daughter, Michelle (Russ) Peck of Juneau, WI; sons, Daniel (Nanner) Carpenter of Indianapolis, IN, and D. Brian (Stacy) Carpenter of Dripping Springs, TX; grandchildren, Andrew Mullin and Mathew Mullin of Fox Lake, WI, Annika and Beckett Carpenter of Dripping Springs, TX, Taylor (Emily) L’Huillier of Indianapolis, IN, and Adam L’Huillier of Draper, UT; great-grandson, Luke Mullin; brother, Thomas (Virginia) Carpenter; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Helen; sister, Joan Carlson; brothers, Dick and Robert Carpenter; nephews, Paul Carpenter and Gay Carlson; parents-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy O’Laughlin; and brother-in-law, James O’Laughlin.
His final resting place will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery & Mausoleum, in Janesville, WI, and will be taking place at a later date.
