Dolores Laverne Grahn, age 88, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Pleasant Park Place in Ripon.
Dolores was born on February 18, 1930, in Nekimi, WI, the daughter of George and Ella (Wesenberg) Marx. On March 23, 1947, she married LeRoy Grahn, and he passed away on June 22, 2010. Dolores and LeRoy owned two coin-operated laundries, one in Ripon and one in Lac du Flambeau, WI. They also owned LeRoy's Liquor Store in Redgranite, WI, and The Wild Goose Resort in Park Falls, WI. They helped establish a church in Woodruff, WI. Dolores also worked at Kathryn's Clothing Store, The Knitting Works, and The Chicago Pickle Company of Ripon; as well as The Cheese Board and The Wolf's Den, both in Minocqua, WI, before retiring. Dolores was an avid bowler and golfer. She loved playing Bridge and Sheephead. Dolores was a former President of The Woman's Club, a Brownie/Girl Scout Troop leader, she played softball and was a Bible class teacher. She enjoyed foraging the woods for Morel mushrooms, wild blueberries, wreath making, bird watching and any kind of fishing. Her infectious smile, eagerness to help, love of people, and that special wink won her many friends.
Dolores is survived by a son, William (Mary) Grahn of Lowell, AR; two daughters, Georgia (Keith) Ludjack of Ripon, WI and Eileen Anderson of Madison, AL; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Flater of Brantwood, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ella; her husband LeRoy; three brothers, Marvin, Lester, and Donald Marx; and a son-in-law, Earl Anderson.
A memorial gathering for Dolores will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, 620 S. 76th St., Milwaukee, WI, 53214.
