Delila Grams

Delila Marie Grams, 85, of Parkview Care Center, Ripon, passed away Monday, May 8, 2000, at Ripon Medical Center after several years of illnesses.

She was born on January 30, 1915, in the town of Eldorado to the late Henry and Amelia Patt Dunn. She was a 1932, graduate of Rosendale High School. She worked at Blake’s Bakery, Ripon, before she married Herbert L. Grams, October 16, 1937, in the town of Eldorado. They were married for 62 years. After marriage they farmed in Rush Lake before moving to Ripon. She worked at Ripon Knitting Works, Green Giant Factory and in the Canteen, Ripon High School Cafeteria, and McMillan Printing Company.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon and formally involved in many of the church activities. She was a Charter member of the Ripon Lioness Club. A member of Ripon Garden Club, United Ostomy Chapter, and Nepeuskun Horsemen’s Assoc. She was a past member of Ridge Rider Snowmobile Club, Ripon Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Tops Club and a Cub Scout Den Mother for her sons. Delila enjoyed traveling to Ripon England, Washington D.C., Hawaii, and Las Vegas. Before her illness she had many hobbies, enjoyed going to different places and meeting new people. Delila and her Sister, Audrey Stroschine, authored a book on the “Herman Patt Family Tree”.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Grams of Fond du Lac and Peter (Brenda) Grams of Ripon; Daughter, Marial (Nicholas) Ludwig of Ripon; Grandsons, Darrel and Jonathan Ludwig of Ripon and Michael Ludwig of Oshkosh Brother-in-law Alfred (Dorothy) Grams of Ripon; Sister-in-law Adela Beier of Ripon; several nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 25, 2000; her son, Larry Lee; her three sisters and their husbands: Veletta (Dewayfle) Hansen, Nathaleefl (George) Ott, and Audrey (Harold) Stroschine.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 12, 2000, at 2 PM, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon with Pastor Paul Holte officiating. Lunch will follow after the service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 11 from 4-8 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Friday from 1-2 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
