David A. Tiry

David “Dave” A. Tiry, age 87, of Ripon, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI.

Dave was born on July 22, 1938 in Marshfield, WI, son of Mathias and Margaret (Hansen) Tiry. He graduated from Marshfield High School and went on to earn a associate degree in Accounting from Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, WI. In 1959, Dave married Lucille Krueger. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1961 - 1962. Dave owned Tiry Sew & Vac in Ripon, WI for many years, and was very active in the community. He was a member of the Early Bird Kiwanis, Lions Club, a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts, and a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Dave enjoyed camping and taking trips with his family in their younger years, and later loved traveling the country with his wife, Lucy.

Dave is survived by his wife, Lucy Tiry of Ripon, WI; children, Michael (Diane) Tiry of Ripon, WI, Michelle (Wayne) Talbot of Howard, WI, Patricia (Tom) Pope of Shingle Springs, CA, and Timothy (Patty) Tiry of Palmyra, WI; grandchildren, Cole (Carla) Talbot, Madysen (fiancé, Kien Moorman) Talbot, Reid Tiry, and Kate Pope; a brother Walter Tiry; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Margaret Tiry; two brothers, Joe Tiry and Delbert Tiry; and a sister, Clarann Herzberg.

Visitation for Dave will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.

A Memorial Mass for Dave will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, with Father Chuck Wrobel officiating. Inurnment will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, WI at a later date. A memorial is being established in his name.
