David J. Meyer

David “Dave” John Meyer, age 66, of Green Lake, WI, died Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at UW Health University Hospital in Madison, WI, after fighting a battle with cancer.

He was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 22, 1956 to Robert and MaryAnn (Frank) Meyer of Ripon, Wisconsin. 

Dave graduated from Ripon High school in 1974. He then completed classes at a tech college in Beaver Dam for Radio Communications. He explored many occupations throughout his life, but Dave found his passion as a radio dispatcher. Dave fulfilled his calling by serving his community and fellow police officers for the Fond du Lac Police Department, Green Lake Sheriff’s Office, and Ripon Police Department.

He had a passion for radio equipment, electronics, and music. Dave used his passions to give back to his community. He was a quiet man who cherished his family and church. 

He is survived by his brothers, Robert “Bobby” Meyer of TN, and Jim (Katie) Meyer of WI; nephews, Steven, Mark, Alex; niece, Emily; grandnieces, Kayelin, Ava, Leah; grandnephews, Gavin and Tristan. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and nephew, Daniel Meyer.

A private graveside service for Dave will be held at a later date at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake.
