Dale Rammel

Dale Rammel, age 96, of Green Bay, WI, passed away Monday, September 07, 2015, at Unity Hospice in De Pere.
Dale was born December 6, 1918, in Almond, WI, the son of Arthur and Ella (Plank) Rammel. He attended school in the village of Friendship, WI, in Adams County and drove milk truck as a young man. Dale then went on to serve our country in the United States Army during WWII. He was enlisted with 743rd Tank Battalion and was part of the European Theatre conflicts. He bravely fought with his comrades on the beaches of Normandy on D Day and later at the Battle of the Bulge. While enlisted, Dale earned numerous medals, including: the American Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with 5 Bronze B Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, Dist Unit Badge, the Go 84 War Dept. November 3, 1944, WWII Victory Medal and one Service Stripe. After he returned home, Dale married Jeanette R. Novitske on May 29, 1947 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon, WI. He spent most of his life in the construction business in Madison, WI. Dale and Jeanette retired to Green Lake, WI, in 1983. After Jeanette's passing, Dale moved to Green Bay where he spent his time volunteering with both Aurora and Bellin Hospitals logging more than 13,000 volunteer hours. Dale was also a member of the American Legion Post 11 in Green Bay.
Dale is survived by his sister, Anja Kruger of Green Bay, WI, and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Joyce Brauch and Eunice Rook along with his brother, Frank Rammel.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation for all of those who came to visit Dale during his time of need in the last several months. Dale will be laid to rest by his family on Friday, September 11, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. Services will be conducted by Pastor David H. Hatch at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971. At this time a memorial is being established.
The family would like to thank the friends and staff at Age Well Assisted Living in Green Bay, Dr. Wolfram and the staff at Bellin Hospital, as well as Unity Hospice for all of their care.
