Christine Briskie, age 63, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at home peacefully with her family by her bedside. She whole-heartedly fought pancreatic cancer for the last 13 months of her life.
Christine was born on February 23, 1947, in Berlin, WI, the daughter of the late Donald and Gladys (Otto) Malson. She worked dutifully and compassionately at Fountain View Care Center for 29 years as a CNA. Christine was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. She enjoyed spending her free time gardening, homemaking, combing for treasures at garage sales, playing scrabble, doing the daily crosswords and sharing a good cup of coffee with family and friends.
Christine is survived by her husband, Patrick of 44 years of Ripon, WI; three children, Jonathon (Sandy) Briskie, Scott Briskie and Patricia (Paul) Kreiling; five step-grandchildren; one very special great-grandchild, Jamason; her sister, Carol (Donald) Remer; five fabulously wonderful sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law and many wonderful nieces and nephews who enjoyed calling her “Aunt Chris”. Chris also leaves behind her beloved dog, L.W. Riggs, who filled her days with “puppy-love” companionship during her days she battled her illness. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and his wife, her father and mother-in-law, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and two nephews.
Visitation for Christine Briskie will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010, from 3 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jill Chatterson Fund, Foundation for Ripon Medical Center, P.O. Box 390 Ripon, WI 54971.
