Charles E. Slaughter

Charles “Moon” E. Slaughter, age 79, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh.

Moon was born on April 3, 1947, in Bonifay, FL, son of Monroe and Louie (Stafford) Slaughter. He graduated from Ponce de Leon High School in Florida. Moon worked as an electrician for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering his time helping out with Second Chance North Dog Rescue; and at Animal House Pet Supplies, in Ripon. Moon was a die-hard Florida Gators fan, rarely missing a game. He would also enjoy watching Greyhound races at Ebro Dog Track in Florida. He loved riding his mobility scooter, which he called his “snowmobile.” Almost every Sunday, he would come and visit his grand-dogs. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Jason) Drake; grandsons, Michael and Jerome Drake; granddaughters, Jazmine (Cory) Forrest and Isabella Drake; many great-grandchildren; brothers, David and Kenneth Slaughter; sisters, Jeanette (Dewley) Steverson and Linda Miller; special family friend, Rebeca Long; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by numerous grand-dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Louie; his brother, Frank Slaughter; and niece, Tammy Slaughter.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at USW Local 1327 Union Hall, 443 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
