Charles LeRoy Mason, 78, of Ripon, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at his home.
Born on October 19, 1921, the son of Arthur LeRoy and Gwendolyn Lewis Mason in Ripon. Charles married Jean Kosanke on November 17, 1943, and was a life-long Member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon where he served on the Vestry, was a Junior Warden, and was an Acolyte for many years. He also served in the U.S. Army, 94th Infantry Division from 1942 to 1946, serving in the European Theater. After World War II he resided in Oshkosh where he was employed at Rockwell International, retiring in 1981, after 41 years of service. In 1983, he returned to Ripon to live. He was a member of the Brown-Parfitt Post of the American Legion for 50 years, and a member of the Oshkosh Auxiliary Police for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Ripon, with Father John Paul Westin and Father Robert J.C. Brown officiating. Private internment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
