Charles E. Kuhs, 77, died on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
Charlie was born December 22, 1943, in Green Lake, WI, the son of Lester and Ruth (Toll) Kuhs. He grew up on the family farm, attended the Bluffton one room school, and graduated from Green Lake High School in 1962. Charlie worked as a beverage salesman for Ed Phillips & Sons, and Badger Beverage Service. In his later years, he worked at Lawsonia Golf Course.
Charlie had a great sense of humor and could tell a good story. He was a kind soul who had a passion for animals that flourished in his youth raising livestock on the farm and continued on through the love of the family pets. He had the ability to laugh about struggles and be a personable man who was able to appreciate all aspects of life. He enjoyed helping others and making people laugh. Charlie enjoyed playing sports in high school and beyond. He loved a good card game or a round of golf. Charlie took pride in watching his grandchildren play sports, never missing an opportunity to give them a “goose call” for a job well done.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Katie Kuhs James and son-in-law, Rick James; grandchildren, August James, Henry James, and Avery James all of Green Lake; brother, Greg Kuhs of Palatine, IL; niece, Emily Rickert and family of Wauconda, IL and nephew, Kyle Kuhs and family of Des Plaines, IL. He is also survived by many lifelong friends from the Green Lake area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruth Kuhs.
A family service will be held at a later date. A memorial is being established in his name.
