Charles Charlie A. Morris, age 78, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI.
Charlie was born on November 16, 1940 in Gloucester, MA, the son of John and Elva (Byrnes) Morris. After high school he went on to proudly serve our country in the U.S. Army. He attended Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD where he received a degree in Biblical Education. Charlie was a pastor in York, ME for 10 years. He married Dianne Elwell and later divorced. On May 1, 1983 he married Jill Fuqua and they moved to Wisconsin. Charlie enjoyed building things, and was an excellent carpenter. He worked as Building and Grounds Manager at the Heidel House in Green Lake, WI for 10 years. He was also an Eagle Scout and cherished his time outdoors with his dad, especially by the ocean, growing up on the east coast. Charlie loved God and sharing his faith with others. He was a member of Ripon Community Church. In his spare time he would build models of ships and was a perfectionist. Charlie was a warm, friendly man, but also was not afraid to speak his mind.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Jill S. Morris of Ripon, WI; children, Heidi (Chuck) Morris-Reilly of White Hall, IL, David (Debbie) Morris of York, ME, Charles Morris, Jr. of Salem, MA, Susan Morris Puffer of York, ME, Logan Morris of Bakersfield, CA, Eliza Morris of Eau Claire, WI; ten grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Diane Murphy of Blythewood, SC, Bonnie Backlund of Snohomish, WA, Jonelle Schroeder of Vero Beach, FL, and Christina (Ralph) Forbes of Springfield, MA; a brother-in-law, Stephen Fuqua of Essen, Germany; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elva Morris; sons, Dustin Morris and Stephan Morris; a sister, Laurena Troyer; a brother Thomas Morris; and a brother-in-law, George Murphy.
A Celebration of Life for Charlie will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Ripon Community Church, 155 State Street, Ripon, WI, 54971, with Pastor Jack Igel officiating. A memorial is being established in Charlie's name.
