Caroline “Carol” R. Kimball, age 88, of Ripon, WI passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Carol was born on December 23, 1934 in Stevens Point, WI, the daughter of John and Julia Salvinski. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point. Carol moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a secretary. On a blind date in Milwaukee, Carol met the love of her life, and in June of 1959, she married Robert “Bob” Kimball in Fond du Lac, WI. They were married for 61 years.
Carol worked as a secretary at Speed Queen in Ripon. She also worked as a nursing assistant at Ripon Colleges Kemper Clinic until Bob decided to buy a bar. Carol was the manager and daytime bartender of the Broadway Bar in Ripon. After the sale of the business Carol began working at the American Baptist Assembly (Green Lake Conference Center) as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement in 1992. Carol was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and a devout Catholic. Carol spent her retirement years spoiling her grandchildren whom she adored. The family cabin in northern Wisconsin was the favorite place to spend time with them. She will be forever missed.
Carol is survived by three daughters, Debbie Kimball of Ripon, WI, Julie Kimball of Oshkosh, WI and Sue Kimball of Ripon, WI; five grandchildren, Bob Kimball of Wautoma, WI, Heather Kimball of Fond du Lac, WI, Amanda Morgan of Iron Mountain, MI, Adam (Crystal) Patt of Fond du Lac, WI, and Trevor (Samantha) Schrauth of Oshkosh, WI; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kaden Kimball, Zander Langoff, Brayson Patt, Lux Paquette, Salem Schrauth and Lakelynn Kimball; a sister, Jane Ann Burroughs; a brother, John Salvinski; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Kimball; her parents, John and Julia Salvinski; a sister, Marie Kubowski; and two brothers, Bob and Frank Salvinski.
A rosary for Carol will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:30 am, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Carol’s family wishes to thank the staff of SSM Hospice for their wonderful caring support. A special thank you to Julie Kimball for being her mother’s caregiver for the last four months and allowing her to spend her days at home.
