Carol A. Jorgensen, age 81, passed away on December 25, 2016, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon, WI.
Carol was born in Chicago on November 5, 1935, daughter of Anker and Johanne (Ankersen) Nielsen. She graduated from Taft High School in Chicago and went on to Dana College in Blair, NE to pursue a business degree. In January of 1956, she married Herb Jorgensen in Chicago. Carol helped in various positions with the family business, R. Line Foods. She also worked at the Ripon Commonwealth. Carol loved to travel, especially back to Denmark. She has traveled with Herb to 30 different countries, and they have been on 35 cruises over the years. More than anything though she loved being a grandma.
Carol is survived by her husband, Herb; daughters, Patti (Maria Wierichs) Jorgensen of Menasha, WI, and Beth (Steve) Heng of Appleton, WI; grandchildren: Katie (Jimmy) Dahm, Garrett (Elyssa) Heng, and Sarah Heng; a great-grandson, Graham Heng, and another great-grandchild expected in March; brother-in-law Don (Joyce) Jorgensen of Ripon, nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation for Carol will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, on December 30, 2016, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI, 54971.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, on December 30, 2016, at Messiah Lutheran Church, with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Carol’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Fountain View Care Center, especially Sandy Page, for their wonderful care of Carol. A memorial is being established in Carol’s name.
