In loving memory of Carl Mapps, born March 7, 1917 and passed away peacefully on December 1, 2019.
Carl was a family resident in Green Lake, WI for many years. His parents, Ralph and Belle Mapps ran Camp Robinhood in Green Lake. Carl was married to Julia Boucher on September 11, 1948 and had five children. He leaves behind three children, several grandchildren and on great-grandchild. He was an honorable World War II veteran, where he served in the 1st, 2nd, and 5th Calvary Division, from 1941 to 1945. Carl was an author of 2 books; one of his favorite places in Green Lake to spend his retirement was at the library. His love for horses was admirable; he was a kind and loving horse trainer for many years. Carl was also an avid long distance runner and achieved many awards throughout the years.
He had been residing at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI where he was happy, loved and well cared for. Many thanks to the Wisconsin Veterans Home for taking care of Carl with dignity and respect. A very special thank you to Bill and Elaine Riebe and Marion Sandleback for their unconditional and devoted care, love and friendship to both Carl and his family. Carl was a man of honor and lived his life with love and kindness. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. May he now rest in peace.
A celebration of Carl's life will be held in the summer of 2020 in Green Lake, WI.
