Betty J. Rohde, age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away with family by her side on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Communities – River Pines in Altoona, WI.
Betty was born August 22, 1927 in Hartford, WI, the daughter of Alfred H. and Hilda A. (Hahn) Eimermann. Betty’s family moved to their farm in Brandon, WI in October 1930, where she attended Spring Valley Country School and Brandon High School. Afterwards, she attended La Crosse State Teachers College and graduated in June 1949 with a Bachelor of Science. Betty married Hubert L. Rohde on August 13, 1949. Together, they both taught school in Eagle Bend, MN. They also lived in Packwaukee and Lomira, WI before moving to Ripon. Betty served those around her through her years as a devoted teacher, school bus driver, homemaker and mother.
Survivors include her children, Rolan (Mary) Rohde, Ann (Doug) Semenske, James (Barb) Rohde, Ellen (Ken) Cerney, and Carol (Glenn) Pederson; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Hilda Eimermann; husband, Hubert L. Rohde; sisters, Arlynn Harms and Evangeline Weiss; and grandson, Aaron Semenske.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9 – 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
A funeral service for Betty will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Michael Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery, City of Ripon, WI. Memorials in Betty’s name may be directed to Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 320 Mt. Zion Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 or Ronald McDonald House Charities, 2716 Marshall Ct., Madison, WI 53705.
