Betty Miller

Betty Grace Miller, age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Maplecrest in Ripon, WI.

Betty was born October 2, 1926, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Bier) Retzlaff. In 1944, she graduated from Ripon High School. On June 4, 1949, Betty married Donald Miller in Ripon. She was a bookkeeper for their business, Miller Oil Company. Betty belonged to Business and Professional Woman and was a volunteer at Ripon Medical Center for over 20 years.

Betty played cards in many card clubs and in her earlier years she bowled. She loved to cook, bake and can in summer and liked to entertain a lot – she didn’t want anyone to go home hungry. Betty was a Wisconsin Badger fan and baseball fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. She was a very generous and caring person and most happy when she was together with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Miller of DePere, WI and her children, Angela (Scott) PeCore of DePere, WI and their children, Ava and Nora; Jean (Thomas) Schuster of Ripon, WI and their children, Sarah (Travis) Richert of Verona, WI and their children, Gavin, Cole and Jack and Jane (Bill) Coats of Ripon, WI and their children Amy (Tim Terry) of Mequon, WI and Jenni of Milwaukee; and their special family friends, Jon and Diane Heatley of Ripon, WI. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald; her beloved grandson, Joel Thomas Schuster; sister, Margaret Mackie and many other relatives and good friends.

Visitation for Betty will be held Friday, July 9, 2021, from 9 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Service for Betty will be held Friday, July 9, 2021, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. A memorial is being established in her name.
