Bessie Kinas, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019, at Prairie Place in Ripon with family by her side.
Bessie was born February 2, 1927, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of John and Louise (Manske) Wehausen. She was baptized and attended grade school at Christ Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Bessie graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. On June 25, 1949, she married Harold Kinas at Christ Lutheran Church. Bessie worked at Wisconsin Electric Company while living in Milwaukee. Bessie has lived in Culver City, CA, Detroit, MI, Plymouth, WI and retired in Milwaukee and Ripon, WI. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Bessie enjoyed family history, flower gardening, especially Iris, sewing and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Harold Kinas of Ripon, WI; four children, Paul (Susan) Kinas, John (Debra Devyak) Kinas, Krista (David) Norton and Karen (Gen) Gamboa; grandchildren, Matt Kinas, Aaron (Melissa) Kinas, Andrew (Kacie Ashlyn Ward) Kinas, Sara Kinas, Jesse (Helen Truax) Norton, Joshua Norton, Jonathan Gamboa, Vincent (Jenn Wong) Gamboa and Danielle Gamboa and great-grandchildren, Matthew Kinas, Kaia Kinas, Aloh Kinas, Tybalt Norton Truax and Quentin Norton Truax. Bessie was further survived by two sisters, Caroline Mirzwinski and Elaine Folman and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Eugene and Edgar Wehausen.
Visitation for Bessie will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019, from 1 – 2:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Bessie will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Inurnment will take place on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee. Memorials may be directed to Concordia University Wisconsin, make check payable to CUW Foundation, Attention: Office of Advancement, 12800 N. Lake Shore Dr., Mequon, WI 53097.
