Bernice Roeske

Bernice Grace Roeske (aka Propulski or Pucky), age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Copperleaf Village in Ripon.

Bernice was born July 26, 1922, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Frances Lehman. On August 16, 1942, she married Ebie Roeske at the Lehman home in Arcade. She attended Arcade Grade School, Ripon High School and graduated from Miss Brown’s Business College in Milwaukee. She was secretary to the President of Ripon Bank for a time. Thereafter, she became a housewife when Ebie returned from the Navy after WWII. She also had some part time employment at Hi-K Restaurant and as a telephone operator in Pickett. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, summers up north, dancing in the kitchen, caring for her granddaughters, and having an occasional beer.

Survivors include her son, Keith of Stevens Point; granddaughters, Tracy Longtine and Michelle Manke of Appleton; great-granddaughter, Sadie Longtine, along with her significant other Hezzy Berndt of Ripon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ebie in 1989, her sister, Irna Hicks and brother, Ruben Lehman.

Visitation for Bernice will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017, from 1 – 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial Service for Bernice will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Chaplain Peg Salmela officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be directed to the National MS Society, 1120 James Drive, Suite A, Hartland, WI, 53029.

To the staff at Copperleaf Village, both past and present, a big thank you for the care you gave to Bernice and the happiness you provided. We are grateful.
