Barbara A. Hablewitz
It is with sadness in our hearts that we mourn the recent loss of our dear mother, Barbara A. Hablewitz, age 86, at her home in Baraboo, WI (formerly of Ripon, WI), on Saturday, January 20, 2018.
Barbara was born December 21, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Estelle (Roszkowiak) Zilla. She was married in 1953, in Milwaukee, WI and started a family there and later they moved to Ripon, WI. Barbara was a devoted wife of Roy J. Hablewitz, who preceded her in death in 1999. She was a devoted mother, and together with her husband, Roy they raised three sons, Roy D., Robert B., and Richard T. Hablewitz.
Throughout her life she enjoyed travel, baking, cooking, and family get togethers, especially during the holidays. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister as well as a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Roy D. Hablewitz and Robert B. (Mary) Hablewitz, as well as her grandchildren, Andrew Hablewitz, Anne Hablewitz, Alyssa Hablewitz, Alison Hablewitz and Stefani Magnowski. Barbara is further survived by great-grandchildren, Dahlia, Braylie, Violet, Andrew; brother, Tom Zilla of Lombard, IL and nephews, Frank, Tom and Joseph; nieces, Gail, Kate, Peggy and many other nieces and nephews in the family. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Estelle Zilla; husband, Roy Hablewitz; son Richard Hablewitz; two brothers, Frank and Dan Zilla and sister, Mary Alice Zilla.
Visitation for Barbara and Richard will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 11 – 1:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara and Richard will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake with Reverend Tafadzwa Kushamba officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, WI.
