Arthur Lamonska

January 31, 1936 — February 5, 2020

Arthur Harland Lamonska, age 84, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at home.

Arthur was born January 31, 1936, at home in the Town of Green Lake, WI, the son of Edward and Edna (Frei) Lamonska. He graduated from Markesan High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Army and National Guard. In 1955, Arthur married Carol Elaine VanBuren. He worked as a carpenter and a maintenance supervisor for Speed Queen and Mercury Marine. Arthur was a member of The Federated Church of Green Lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, wintering in Texas, outdoor activities and watching and supporting his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and card games with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Carol Lamonska of Green Lake, WI; one daughter, Janell (James) Seeliger of Princeton, WI; two grandchildren, Savanna (Zach Higgenbotham) Seeliger of Fond du Lac, WI and Brenden (Hannah Roehl) Seeliger of Princeton, WI; brother, Arnold Lamonska of Ripon, WI; brothers-in-law, Arnold Renn of Markesan, WI, Dale (Norma) VanBuren of DeForest, WI, Bruce (Marilynn) VanBuren of Fond du Lac, WI, Martin (Norma) VanBuren and Robert (Bonnie) VanBuren both of Waupun, WI; sisters-in-law, Vikki VanBuren of Ripon, WI and Karen (Rick) Beek of Alto, WI. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marjorie Renn and Elaine (Lloyd) Wiese; brother, Kenneth (Charmaine) Lamonska; brothers-in-law, Donald VanBuren and Kendall VanBuren; and sister-in-law, Muriel Lamonska. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Arthur will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, February 21, 2020, from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Memorial Service for Arthur will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Alto Cemetery in the Town of Alto, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
