Arlene Davis, 72, of 610 Newbury St., Ripon, died peacefully at home Wednesday, December 8, 2004, with her son by her side, along with a very dear and close friend, Shannon, holding her hand.
She was born July 18, 1932, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Walter and Ruby (Payton) Gehrke. She graduated from Ripon High School, and went on to attend nursing school in Chicago. After some years, Arlene went back to Moraine Park Technical College to become an LPN. She then did private nursing.
Mom loved her Bishons, Spike, Sparky, Shakespeare, and Rosie the cat. She also enjoyed watching and attending Packer, Badger, and Cubs games. She enjoyed taking a pontoon boat on Green Lake spending a sunny day with family and friends. But most importantly, she just loved simply spending time with family, cooking dinners, laughing and enjoying good conversation, and just being a great and special Mom.
Survivors include her son, Brian (Diana) Davis of Ripon; 2 daughters, Lynn (Rodney) McDonald and their son, Jacob of Ripon and Ann Prelwitz (fiance Charles Craft) of Green Lake; sister, Jackie Burlingame of Ripon; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Roger Burlingame; and former husband, James Davis.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2004, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Rev. Donald Deike officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
