Annabelle W. Dorsch, age 90, of Ripon, WI passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Ripon Medical Center.
Annabelle was born at home on January 4, 1931, the daughter of Ted and Bessie (Fisher) Wichman. She graduated from the Ripon Public Schools in 1949 and went on to Ripon College, graduating with a teaching degree in 1953. During her high school and college years, she enjoyed many activities, especially athletics, forensics, and drama. In 1957 she married Edward E.J. John Dorsch. For the next 34 years, Annabelle taught English and coached forensics in Waupun and Ripon High Schools. The Wisconsin Forensic Association honored Annabelle with the Hall of Fame Award in 1990.
Annabelle is survived by her nieces, Kay (Mike) and Tracy (Jon); great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; E.J.'s brother, Col. Donald Dorsch; E.J.'s sister-in-law, Joan Dorsch and his nieces and nephew, Judy, Rita, Ranee, Susan, Mary, and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Bessie Wichman; her husband, E.J.; E.J.'s sisters and nephews, Alice and Bunny, Daniel, and Michael; and also her niece, Tammy.
A private graveside service will be held for Annabelle, with Rev. Davies Edassery officiating. Memorials in her name may be directed to the Friends of the Ripon Public Library.
