It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ann C. Somers of Fond du Lac, and formerly Ripon, WI, announce her passing on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Ann was born on September 5, 1944, the first daughter of Willard “Jake” and Agnes (Schroeder) Gores in Fond du Lac. She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Goodrich High School. Ann was an avid tennis player for many years. It was her love of tennis that led her to coach boys and girls tennis for 12 years at Ripon High School. In recent years, she could be found on her bike riding around Fond du Lac with friends. Ann was very active in the church. She served as visiting pastoral minister and a church organist for 35 years. Ann was married to Robert Somers on December 1979 until his passing in August, 2020.
Ann is survived by her children, Bob Somers and his children, Marley, Kaleigh, and Jordyn; Ann (Dean) Rosemeyer and their children, Andrew, James, and Katherine; Jim (Katie) Somers and their children, Joe, Charlie, and Finn; Mary (Brad) Chapin and their sons, David, Ryan, and Jack; Elizabeth (Andy) Rossini and their sons, William and Anthony; Michael (Jill) Barker and their daughter, Lily Anne; John (Brianne) Somers and their children, Adeline and Edwin; and eight great-grandchildren. She was further survived by her siblings, John Gores, Mary Gores-Williams and Katherine Baker; her nieces and their families.
In addition to her husband, Robert, her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation for Ann will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 am on Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
A memorial mass for Ann will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, with Fr. Chuck Wrobel and Rev. Robert A. Fictum officiating. Per Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Ripon, at a later date. Memorials in her name may be directed to the church, 218 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Her family would like to thank the Hospice Home of Hope for their excellent care of Ann.
