Angeline Baneck

Angeline L.A. (Penn) Baneck, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI.

Angie was born in Hamburg, WI, on September 5, 1925, the daughter of Hugo and Emilia (Achterberg) Penn. She graduated from Wausau High School. Angie married Melvin Baneck on December 5, 1942, at St. Stevens Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. Melvin passed away on March 3, 2010. Angie loved playing cards on Monday nights. While she lived at Prairie Place she played cards with her friends there, along with Bingo and Chicken Foot. If she wasn't playing games with her friends, she would color with pencils in books, or pick the meats out of hickory nuts. She was also in a bowling league with Melvin, and after he passed away she continued with it.

Angie is survived by her son, James (Joanne) Baneck of Winneconne, WI; a daughter, Katherine (Gary) Gitzel of Ripon, WI; six grandchildren, Douglas (Amanda) Baneck, Kevin (JoAnn) Baneck, Gregory (Kelli) Baneck, Sabrina Novak, Nichole (Lance) Uhland, and Rhonda (Greg) Verhagen; seven great-grandchildren, Eric Novak, Brooke, Trent, Mackenzie, Addison, and Landen Baneck, and Ella Verhagen; and a brother, Robert Penn of Iron Mountain, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; brothers, Virgil Penn, and Hugo Penn, Jr.; sisters, Beatrice Kramer, Lorna Thiel, and Bonnie Dalum.

Visitation for Angie will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church, 502 Cty Rd M, Pickett, WI, 54964.

A funeral service for Angie will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett, with Pastor Jud Krohn officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Town of Utica, WI. A memorial is being established in her name.
