Allen W. Seeliger, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Barrett House in Ripon.
Al was born in Markesan, WI, on January 12, 1927, the son of William and Selma (Kohls) Seeliger. He attended school in Princeton, WI. On June 16, 1951 he married Adeline Perr in Ripon, and she passed away in 2010. Al was a machinist at Speed Queen for 35 years, and he also drove for Sweeney's Auction Associates in Ripon. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, and a past council member of the City of Ripon for 8 years. Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, his work as a taxidermist for 50 years, and driving around checking out the city of Ripon.
Al is survived by his son, Allan (Carol) Seeliger of Ripon; a grandson, Scott (Jean Ann) Seeliger of Altoona, IA; a granddaughter Crystal (Ken) Worley of Poplar Grove, IL; five great-grandchildren, Amanda and Brooke Seeliger, Kyle, Caleb, and Connor Worley; a brother, Ronald Seeliger of Princeton, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Selma; his wife, Adeline, three brothers, Melvin “Doc,” Kenneth, and William “Buddy” Seeliger; and four sisters-in-law, Rosella, Betty, Alice, and Shirley Seeliger.
A visitation for Al will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971, and again from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 Blossom St., Ripon, WI, 54971.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Al will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Al's name.
