Age 96

Marion Nowinski, died at Maplecrest Manor on Sunday, December 19, 2021, shortly after her 96th birthday.

Marion was born at home in Princeton Wisconsin on December 8, 1925 to Andrew and Anna Wamke Olsheski. Marion had lovely red hair that was noticed by everyone. She attended a one-room school house until she transferred to St. Johnís Catholic School in Princeton. In High School she excelled in academics. She was graduated at age 17 and moved to Ripon to work at the Advertisers Manufacturing Company. Marion married Joseph Nowinski on October 2, 1948 at St. Johnís Catholic Church. She soon became a mother to three children; Barbara of Rosendale, David of Black River Falls and Janice (Brian Sutphin) of Menlo Park California. Unusual for the time, Marion returned to work at the Advertisers while raising her children and taking care of her home. She worked at the Advertisers office for 50 years until her retirement. She had two beloved grandchildren, Nicole Nowinski (Gopi Goteti of Waukee, Iowa) and John Nowinski (Sara of Belmont Michigan). She was also blessed by four beautiful great-grandchildren, Sam Goteti, Maddie Goteti, Piper Nowinski and Maggie Nowinski. Marion is also survived by her niece, Diane Nowinski. She is predeceased by her parents, husband (Joseph), sister (Mildred), niece (Marie Krinke) and most cherished daughter-in-law (Debbie Nowinski).

Marion loved life and always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. During the Depression she thrived on visits with her large extended family. Although widowed at age 52, she independently handled most aspects of life until her later years. Marion had a keen intellect and was known for her incredible memory. She never forgot a personís name or birthday. She always had a smile and joke for everyone. Marion was always ready to attend a community or church event, a dance or to travel. She especially enjoyed her travels to Europe, Hawaii and California. Marion lived at Maplecrest Manor for the last 9 years of her life and thrived there enjoying the other tenants, staff members and activities.

Marion was a devoted member of St. Catherine Catholic Church (formerly St. Wenceslaus) for over 79 years. She volunteered for all church events and fund-raisers. She was an active member of the Christian Women until she moved to Maplecrest. Although moving to Maplecrest precluded her from attending church she remained a devout member and cherished visits from church volunteers. She was able to see her children at the end and say goodbye to them. She truly enjoyed life. Marion is at peace now and we all will miss her. Remember her smile.
